In 2017 I had the opportunity to write for York St John's Media and Culture Magazine, Neutral. In 2017 I wrote about celebrity culture. That article can be read here . In 2018, I was given the opportunity to write again for Neutral. This year I opted to write a film review, about my favourite film of the year, The Florida Project. The article can be read here on Neutral's website, or below.  A colourful, honest tale about poverty and childhood wonder. Childhood innocence and wonder takes the front stage of Sean Baker's story that homes in on the hidden homeless population of Florida, just a stone's throw away from Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom. The combination of an unforgettable narrative, phenomenal performances, stunning cinematography, impeccable direction and a striking use of colour make it a must-see film that is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. 5 Things (5th June)

Here’s 5 things. 1.  Paper Girls. I am currently reading (and loving!) Paper Girls, a sci fi comic book series, written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Cliff Chiang. The series is published by Image Comics, who also publish The Walking Dead. Paper Girls follows the story of four twelve-year-old newspaper delivery girls from the fictional Cleveland suburb of Stony Stream. The series is one I recommend for fans of the Netflix Original, Stranger Things. Paper Girls Orphan Black: Deviations Another comic book series that I am enjoying is Orphan Black: Deviations. It is third in a series of comic books based on the television show, Orphan Black. The first series is named just Orphan Black, the second named Orphan Black: Helsinki. Most audiences of Orphan Black have lik...

Sarah Manning Season 1, Episode 1. One of my favourite shows, is Orphan Black. Orphan Black is a Canadian science fiction television series created by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett. The show is majorly underrated, and is about to begin its fifth (and final, sadly) season in June. The series begins with Sarah Manning, played by Tatiana Maslany, who witnesses a woman, Beth Childs, also played by Maslany, commit suicide and she takes her identity. Oh, and they’re clones. But Sarah doesn’t realise this until she meets more of her follow clones, including Soccer Mom-of-two Alison Hendrix, and PHD student Cosima Niehaus. The series raises issues about the moral and ethical implications of cloning and follows the clones as they fight to survive, discover themselves as individuals and search for answers. (L-R) Top row: Katja, Rachel, Sarah Bottom row: Alison, Cosima, Helena Tatiana Maslany is an actress that everyone should know the name of. She plays many of the ch...
